Cherry Petersen Landry Albert LLP (CPLA) announced today that Jonathan R. Smith has joined the firm as a partner. CPLA is a leading law firm that specializes in real estate transactions, commercial litigation and dispute resolution.

Smithcomes from Kane Russell Coleman & Logan PC where he was a partner. Smith specializes in commercial real estate transactions including new development, lending and leasing. He has represented many well-known national retailers, lenders, and developers. Smith has also handled sales transactions involving retail, office, warehouse, and multifamily residential properties throughout the United States. Additionally, in the landlord and tenant arena, he represents several regional and national retail tenants as well as regularly representing landlords and tenants in office leasing.

Smith is active in the Dallas Bar Association, the Real Property Section of the State Bar of Texas and the International Council of Shopping Centers. He received his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from the University of Alabama and his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School. He is licensed to practice in Texas. Smith joins Carly J. Gaines, J. Russell McWilliams, Jon A. Baker and Kenny Meixelsperger who joined the firm last year.
